What Causes Pain In Lower Abdominal And Back While Treating An UTI?

Question: I'm a 22 years old female and 6 months postpartum I started getting lower abdominal and back pain feels like period pain. I was diagnosed with a UTI and then I took an antibiotic course for 5 days (cibrobay 250mg twice daily) and then I did the urine test again which came back negative for infection but the problem is that I still have the pain and the test showed some blood so I am really concerned

I understand your concerns.

Blood in urine as well as pain are common symptoms of UTI. These symptoms do not go away easily without antibiotics treatment during post partum period.

I suggest you give urine for culture and sensitivity test. You can take antibiotics accordingly as per culture and sensitivity report. This will cure UTI.

Meanwhile drink more water.

But culture came back negative and i have a lot of pain especially that yesterday i had intercourse and few hours later i even had more pain so shall i repeat the test incase the intercourse got my uti back ?

Yes. It is possible that your UTI still exists. Repeat the test to identify UTI.

I have seen attachment. Sometimes reports show no UTI though there is UTI. Eventually this leads to pain. Hence no matter what is the report. I suggest you get a prescription for broad spectrum antibiotics.
