What Causes Pain In Penis, Fever And Slight Shivering?

Question: Hi, below are the details which my nephew is currently facing. Could you please help:
Age: 18 months; Weight: 7KGs
This morning around a couple of hours after he woke up, he complained of pain in his penis (It was slightly swollen). A general Physician had then suggested moxicind antibiotic and brufen syrup. However later in the day he got 102 temperature, with slight shivering. He was given Combiflam and the fever has now reduced to 100.5. He complains of a lot of pain when he is passing urine.

Brief Answer:
It could be due to an urinary tract infection

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through the details. I would suggest you to get a urine routine microscopy and culture done and would insist you to share the report. There is a possibility of urinary tract infection as a cause of the pain and fever. Moxikind is an antibiotic and should provide relief. Please continue it for at least 5 days. Brufen and Combiflam are analgesics. Give only one, not both. The latter is effective in reducing fever as well. Please be patient. It may take a few days to resolve.
