Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Does the pain radiate to the back? Does it appear after foods intake? DO you have any nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite? Does it get more intense when breathing? Is it sharp or dull pain? Have you had abdominal ultrasound?
I`m looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards.

Yes it radiates to the back. No it does not appear after food intake. No I don't have nausea, vomiting or lack of appetite. No it does not get more intense when breathing. It is a dull pain. No I have not had a abdominal ultrasound. I got this when I got this cold.
Brief Answer:
Strained rib muscle is the most probable reason.
Detailed Answer:
As the pain radiates to the back and gets more intense when you cough, strained muscle along the rib is what gives the pain. It can be caused by coughing due to cold.
Gallstones can cause similar pain, however it is associated with foods intake.
Strained muscle pain can last for few weeks. Hot bath and Ibuprofen can ease the pain.
If you have breathing problems, chest x-ray should be done to rule out possible pneumothorax.
