Question : Shortly right after orgasm, my left arm goes numb, it's done that 3 different times now, of differing severities over the last 2-3 weeks. Typically lasts 10-20 seconds. Is this of concern?Age 30, male. The last time, it felt like a vague ache appeared on the left side of the left side of the chest just upstream of the arm, lasted about 3-4 seconds. Been feeling periodic warm sensations in the left side of my left chest in the past week or two, seems to come on when I have a stressful thought.

Hi,
Welcome.
This is Dr Sameer, cardiologist.
Arm pain or chest tightness or feeling of any pressure over chest after exertion or stress (including orgasm) could be a early sign of heart disease. It could also be just a compressed nerve of arm because of posting of body.
I'll recommend you for a ECG & stress echo to rule out any possible cardiac cause. Also get a Vit B12 & Vit D3 level done as their deficiency can also cause such episode.

Okay, thanks, I did recently have a night where I experienced severe chest pain while I was sleepin (I was barely awake while it was happening), and I've also woken up to a burning sensation in the middle of my chest about an inch about the sternum, it lasted about 5 seconds. I figured it was probably acid reflux, but I might be having stronger doubts now.

Hi Wwelcome,
I pray that it is comes out to be acid reflex only & nothing serious. But I'll recommend you for detailed cardiac evaluation to be 100% safe & sure.
So get a ECG & 2D Echo done soon. As i suggested earlier also, test your Vit D & Vit B12 level too.
For such patients having acid reflux, we start with Tab Pantoprazole 40mg once daily before breakfast. Rest other medication, if required, can be added after test reports.
