Question : yesterday, 9-5-15, I started having pain that felt like it was chest pain and/or rib pain on the left side of my upper chest and along the upper, outer ribs, left side. Today the pain is in the left, lateral, and goes over the lt shoulder to the shoulder blade. The pain is sharp and is a lot worse when taking in a deep breath.

                                    Brief Answer:
your pain is likely to be non cardiac
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your query. Thanks for using HCM.
I am Dr.Rajesh Teli,MD.
The pain which increases with deep inspiration is usually arising from pleura, muscle or ribs.Do you have fever and coughing ?Are you smoker ?Did you have injury over left lower chest ? Answer to this will give clue to your diagnosis.
You may take simple analgesic like Aceclofenac 100 mg twice a day for 2 to 3 days.If you are not relieved get X ray chest PA view to find cause.Normal SPO2 is good sign.
My best wishes
Dr.Teli.
