What Causes Pain In The Penis?

default
Posted on Tue, 6 Sep 2016
Question: I am having some penis pain, in the penis area not scrotum. About a week ago I played golf in some very hot conditions. I tried to stay hydrated, but after golf I think I had heat exhaustion. Since that day I have had some pain in my bladder like I have to urinate and it also affected my colon like I had to have a bowel movement. I went to hospital and they said my blood was ok, but urine showed I needed to be hydrated. I have been drinking 2 to 3 bottles of water per day. I thought maybe I had a bladder infection, but urinalisis did not show that. I have not passed any blood or pus. Urine seems to be a light yellow. Have any ideas what is causing this? I do not have kidney stones I already passed them.

Brief Answer:
The symptoms may be due to prostate enlargement or stone.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can understand your concern.

Your symptoms could be due to prostate gland enlargement,UTI or stone.

Please elaborate on what you meant by, "urine showed i needed to be hydrated ".
You had kidney stones problem before a year.
You can't be sure that, you don't have any kidney stone now, without a scan.

The pain you've, needs a check-up by an Urologist and some tests to be done, like :
1. urine culture.
2. blood routine,creatinine,RBS,LFT,PSA,uric acid,calcium,phosphorus and platelets.
3. Ultrasound-KUB,with residual urine and a TRUS.

According to the reports,an expert opinion can be given.

The hospital said my urine showed I needed to drink more water or they could give me liquids in my arm. I chose to drink more water. I have some amoxicillin at home would it help to start taking it for the pain?

Brief Answer:
Water is not given in your arm.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

1. According to your query, urinalysis showed "you needed to drink more water",
it didn't show infection.
A specific gravity test has not been done, then on what basis do you say that, you
needed to drink more water.Water isn't given in the arm.
2. Amoxiclacillin is of no help.
An urine culture needs to be done,to know if there's any UTI.(urinary infection).
