Brief Answer:
Might be suffering from Eustachian Tube Blockage

Detailed Answer:
Hi,thank you for posting your query on health care magic.

The probable reason for the pain in the ear while swallowing might be Eustachian Tube Blockage.

Eustachian tube connects the middle ear with the back of your nose and throat. It helps in equalization of middle ear pressure with the outer atmospheric pressure. When you swallow, the Eustachian tube opens and any excess air in the middle ear is vented into the back of your nose. However, when the Eustachian tube is blocked, the middle ear cannot normalize pressures.
Every time you swallow the Eustachian tube, which is connected to your ear and to your nose and throat, is trying to open but cannot open. So the ear hurts.

The tube might get blocked due to inflammation, infection, or allergy in the nose like Cold infection or throat .Acid reflux may also cause Tube blockage.

You may find relief by taking the following medicines:
Analgesic with Anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen,
Antacid like Rantac,
Antihistaminic like Cetrizine,
Oral Decongestant like Pseudoephedrine(take decongestant only if you are not suffering from Hypertension,Heart/kidney/liver disease,High pressure in the eyes-Glaucoma).

Also continue with warm saline gargles.Do steam inhalation.Drink lots of warm fluids.Avoid cold food and dust.

Hope this answers your question.I would be happy to answer if you have any follow-up questions.Take care.
