Question : Yes, thank you. I have been have a constant pain on my right side, higher up by my rib cage going and seems to be moving towards my back. I'm worried about this because I'm wondering about a problem with my kidney. What would be the symptoms of a failing kidney?

Noted your history of pain higher up by rib cage on right side, seemingly going to back, for years.
Worried about kidney.
Wants to know the symptoms of failing kidney.
The symptoms are present only if there is stone and/or infection in the kidney.
There can be associated urinary symptoms of burning urination, blood in urine, frequency of urination, fever, chills and backache.
The pain you have seems to be due to a condition called costochondritis.
There may be local tenderness.
