Brief Answer:
I need little more detail of the illness

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. Pain in shoulder does not need Uloric which is medication for GOUT. Before I advised you anything I would like to know little detail of the illness.
1.Are you have high uric acid or diagnosed as GOUT?
2.Since when you are having shoulder pain?
3.Are you having Diabetes or thyroid or smoking?
Please send me answers of these questions.I will try my best to help you.
thanks

I was diagnosed in February 2012 with gout. I stopped consuming alcohol and started allopurinol which made me sick, however the colchicine got the gout under control. In December 2013 I had a hole burned in my stomach from the nsaid and had major surgery to repair it. In the process due to over medication with beta blockers I developed Afib symptoms. January 1, 2014 I was shocked back to sinus rhythm and no more symptoms. However the cardiologist put me on warfarin. No one told me that it caused gout! I began having gout flares even though I was following a strict diet. Finally in XXXXXXX of this year the PTINR nurse doubled my dose of warfarin and the gout really got bad. Without going into a lot of detail I quit taking warfarin and the gout went away. I was left with gout tophi's on my hands. My new primary care doctor is trying to help reduce the uric acid with Uloric. The shoulder and back pain started the day I took the first dose and the second day it got worse and today I could not move. I stopped the uloric and took colchicine and an nsaid and have found relief. I do not have diabetes or thyroid problems and have never smoked.

Brief Answer:
Sudden change in uric acid level can cause pain

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
thanks for replying. As you took Uloric there is sudden change in blood uric acid level. It can cause flaring of symptoms. You should not stop uloric now, but also continue to take Colchicine. Do not take NSAID as you have history of gastric perforation. Once your top is cleared then you can decrease uloric to 100 mg one day.
thanks
