                                            Can be cardiac or gastric.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for query-
It can either be cardiac or gastric Only way is to rule out by investigations.
Intially go for cardiac basic tests named stress test and 2d echo. These tests are designed to rule out coronary artery blockage.Pain involving area around rib cage could be cardiac hence its important to exclude cardiac cause first.
If these tests are normal cardiac cause is excluded.
Start taking Nexium 40 mg once daily its an antacid.Gastritis and gases may mimic cardiac pain.Gastritis pain typically responds to Nexium. Inflammation of the stomach is also known as acute gastritis. When hot foods enter into injured areas of the stomach, the stomach lining and the interior walls slow or stop altogether the flow of blood in the stomach walls, causing reddening, irritation, and in some cases bleeding. All of this can gradually lead to chronic ulcers. An increase of uric acid in the blood can also be the cause of acute gastritis.
Hope i was helpful.
Feel free to follow up.
Warm regard.
