Question : I noticed this morning when I went to urinate that I had a sharp pain towards the end of my urethra that seemed to get worse the longer that I urinated. After completion I noticed that I was bleeding pretty good. After a minute or two the bleeding stopped and so did the pain. I felt fine afterwards. A few minutes ago I had to urinate again and experienced the same issue. I have not had any pain anywhere else and I do not have any history of kidney stones. What could this be?

Brief Answer:
Possible calculi

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your message.
The symptoms of the query are highly suggestive of calculi or stones.
I have read that there is no history of pain elsewhere.
You will need to test a urine routine with at least a ultrasound of the abdomen.
A higher scan may be needed subsequently.

The alternative possibilities are a urine infection or a local trauma. These would usually show in the tests suggested as well.

Meanwhile, take plenty of fluids.
In case you need to know more , feel free to ask a directed question regarding the same.

Do let me know the reports.
Best of luck.
