Question : I have a pain in my upper left chest above my breast. It just started this morning. I have had a chest cold and cough.

I read your query and understood your concerns.

What you are experiencing most likely is related to chest cold and cough. If you were my patient I would recommend to take advil 1 capsule and bisolvon to relieve the pain and cough.

If this will help than you shouldn't worry about anything. In case that the pain increase in intensity or the things seems to get worse you should go to ER for further exams.
