Brief Answer:
could be fluid collection

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic.

Usually after giving general anaesthesia and doing abdominal sugery chances are there that on left side you may develop pneumonia or fluid collection which irritates diaphragm.

In both condition you get pain on left side and also painful breathing.

I suggest you to consult your surgeon and get an x ray chest and ultrasound abdomen to diagnose the condition and for further treatment.

If mild fluid collected then it will resolve. Larger may need aspiration. For pneumonia antibiotics may be started.

Hope I have answered your query. If any further queries are there I would love to help.

Regards
