Brief Answer:
Gastric discomfort. Supportive care

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Pain in epigastrium and below rib cage is attributed to the gastric discomfort likely gastritis. The medications lipitor as well as toprol both causes gastric discomfort. Also with advancing age, age related functional bowel decline worsens these symptoms. All you need is supportive care. Continue with nexium, avoid stressors like caffeine, spicy foods, binge eating, alcohol, NSAIDs pain killers, processed and canned foods .Eat small frequent meals. Prefer fibers like fruits and vegetables. Use peppermint and yogurt in every meal as supplement.

Add some gastric motility enhancing medication to help empty the stomach, it will relieve the pain too. You may take nexium twice a day if the pain is severe. I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
