Question : I had pain to the right side of ribs just under sternum, as well as heart burn, I had a scope, upper and lower GI, ultrasound of gallbladder, and a HIDA scan, results were 50% with good contractions. I was told I had esoughigitis and gastritis and given Protonix once a day and Cerafate 1 hr before meals. I am feeling somewhat better but the change in my diet and Cerafate has left me constipated and am using a magnesium supplement to help with that, after going to the bathroom today there was some pinkish on the toilet paper with some regular color, just wondering it this is hemmoroids or something else.

I can understand your concern.
Your doctor has prescribed you good medicines for gastritis and esophagitis.
All you need is small frequent meals and plenty of water.
Your meal should contain lot of fiber, to facilitate passing of stool.
Your pinkish wipe may be because of hard stool.But if it happens again it has to be seen by a doctor to confirm if it is hemorrhoids or some thing else.
You can take mild laxative like,lactulose solution.

Thank you for your response, I did failed to mention that I was told I had internal hemorrhoids and after a second looser bowel movement tonight there was a small "blob" of blood, bright red on outside and darker in the middle along with some bright red specks that floated, I may have overreacted and believe this is due to internal hemorrhoids and constipation, thoughts?
