Question : My mother experienced pain in her left arm and could not move it since two days. Since yesterday the surrounding area of the elbow is red and it shows like swelling. Today her left food , she could not walk properly and there is redness on the foot . I gave her a lot of water to drink . I did the test of smile and the tongue it seems normal from the stroke symptoms.

I have seen the picture you uploaded.It is cellulitis due to some infectious process.You should visit a general surgeon immediately.It appears to be an indication for urgent treatment.

I received your diagnosis for my mother that it is cellulitis and she needs to be seen by a surgeon. Should I take her immediately to the emergency or it can wait for tomorrow for a family doctor. How serious is it.? what should I do in the meantime she is sleeping now it is 1am in Montreal. You suggest to wake her up and take her to emergency or to wait for tomorrow morning.

She should be rushed to an emergency room. Foot pictures does not give a clear indication,though.Needs urgent examination and treatment.
