Brief Answer:
The pain might be due to constipation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The pain that you feel under your left ribcage especially after you eat or drink most likely is related with constipation.
You should drink plenty of water ,eat foods rich in fibre and exercise regularly.
If your constipation doesn't seem to improve you can take laxatives like Metamucil for 1-2 weeks.
If the pain persist after the constipation is resolved the we should think that it is not related with constipation.
-In this case it might be related with peptic ulcer or acid reflux. This also can explain the bitter taste in your mouth .The diagnosis is confirmed with an upper endoscopy and the treatment consist in taking anti-acid drugs like Pantoprazole.
-I would suggest to get some tests done including:
-Blood sugar (to exclude diabetes) because it can be the cause of the bitter taste in mouth.
-Thyroid function tests (FT3,FT4 ,TSH) because severe constipation can be due to hypothyroidism.

Hope it was of help.
Let me know if you have any other question or doubt to clarify.I will be happy to assist you further.

Kind Regards!
