To recapitulate: Male/67 - rubbing sensation under the rib cage on left side when you cough.

The most probable causes of this symptom are as follows:
- Pleurisy: There can be a classical rub that the patient feels, albeit with some pain.
- Lower lung pathology.
- Costochondritis.
