Question : I received a testosterone shot in my right buttocks. a day or 2 later I had a hard lump that I have gotten before. I was wrestling around with my kids and rolled over on it an it kind of hurt. Now the lump is about 4 inces long by 2 inches wide an redish. is it just inflamed or do you think its infected?

Brief Answer:
Hematoma is most probable reason.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Can you please attach a photo of it so I can give more precise answer?

Such lump usually appears when during an injection vein is injured. Blood appears outside a vessel. This causes hematoma creation. Hematoma can be palpated as a lump. Kind of bruise-like reddish and purple color around it is usually present.
If its tender and hard, can be already infected.

Large hematoma wont disappear by its own. It should be drained.
I suggest you to consult your doctor and have soft tissues ultrasound to see if there is any fluid collection.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
