What Causes Painful Swelling On Forehead After An Injury In Infants?
Question: This past sunday my almost 3 yr old threw a hard toy at my forehead that resulted to a goose egg above my left eye. I did ice it that day and night, however the swelling is still there and so is the pain. I noticed today when I lean over ny head throbs in pain. I have never had a goose egg before so don't know if this is something i have to deal with til it goes away on its own or if i need to be seen.

I am so sorry to hear about what happened. Children are often not too conscious of the consequences of play. I am sure this was totally accidental.
Most swellings following trauma are caused by minor bleeds or inflammation. In most cases, they resolve without the need for any further medical attention. Tylenol is often enough to control the pain while the swelling would be addressed the body system.
However, I will like to have an image for review to make sure there is nothing we are missing out on at this time. I hope to hear from you.
