Brief Answer:
you may be having a furuncle!
Detailed Answer:
hello
Painful swelling on/in the nose , specially of diabetics is likely to be a furuncle , which is a bacterial infection of the hair follicles.
You will need a change in your antibiotics and valacyclovir is not the right medication for this condition , hence i would recommend that you do not take it.
Please get your blood sugars tested as they are likely to be abnormal ,please meet your doctor for prescription of the antibiotic and review of your blood sugar reports.
Thanks
