Hi,
I have gone through your medical history and understood your concerns.
To my opinion, it is important to find out why you are having painful tongue when you get up in the morning. That is due to GERD to me. So, if you control GERD well, your mouth problems will get improved too.
Apart taking appropriate medications for GERD (e.g. PPIs, antacids, etc.); following a healthy diet is also important together with keeping a good oral hygiene (as you are doing now).
I suggest to take
- OTC analgesic to reduce pain (acetaminophen, ibuprofen, etc.)
- avoid eating too hot/spicy foods
- apply mouth lidocaine gel to relieve pain
You should contact your gastroenterologist to re-evaluate your GERD problems.
Hope it helped! Let me know if you need further assistance!
