Brief Answer:
It can be due to urinary infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM

I have gone through your query. Your husbands problem can be due to urinary tract infection. This can give irritation for gsstrointestinal tract and gastric upsets.

Urine routine examination will be helpful to rule out urinary infection. antibiotic therapy will be required in such case. Antispasmodics like cyclopam will be helpful to decrease cramps.
Give more plain water. Taking potassium citrate or sodium citrate syrup is water is also good.

Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks
