Question : Went to urgent care for pain and white blisters in my mouth. They rubbed my mouth and tongue with a q-tip to take a test. I read you should not take antibotics, but I was given a c-pack. I feel like I should stop this?
Brief Answer:
perhaps but you should talk with the doctor first
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
your case sounds more likely a viral infection than anything else. I can't diagnose anything from afar (obviously) so I can't really comment on the treatment. I can only say that z-pak (azithromycin) if that's what you meant (I don't know of any c-pack antibiotic) is not a great choice for mouth infections. I suppose the doctor suspected such an infection because antibiotic are only prescribed for bacterial infections!
So you'd better check with them first before stopping any treatment. If the doctor is certain about the bacterial etiology then the treatment should be continued. Otherwise stopping it would sound like a better option.
Kind Regards!
