What Causes Painless Lump On Shoulder Along With Arm Pain?

Question: Lump in shoulder it is painless but hard there is pain in my arm however which has caused some issues where it can sometimes be sharp and burning to dull and aching. I was prescribed prednisone to try to reduce the swelling of said lump with no success. I am concerned since the pain is now going into the back of my shoulder as well.
Brief Answer:
Diagnostic is necessary.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Can you please attach a photo of it? Have you had any injury in the lump area? Has it gotten larger recently?
Giving prednisone is not a good area. Especially if there is an infection in the lump. It can be a cyst which has a connection with the joint. If so, the pain of whole limb is possible.
Before any treatment, you should have proper diagnostic. Soft tissues ultrasound should be done as well as an x-ray. If this tests wont tell about the lump nature, MRI is the next step.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
