Brief Answer:
On which side is this pain? Is it aggravated by eating?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

Could you please specify on which side of the body this pain is and its relationship to food? if it has no relationship with food intake and only concern is with exercise, then probably pain medications would be a great way to start I will recommend Tylenol thrice daily. Pain in this area is often related to the pancreas, gall bladder and stomach. With you being on tums, the stomach is less likely and the others more likely.

No relation with food would make gall bladder disease less likely. If the pain medications in this case fail to resolve the problem, then I will recommend that you strongly consider getting examined alongside imaging studies to understand what the exact problem is.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

The pain is on the right side just below ribcage. Seems to be agrevated by physical exertion. I was doing a little shoveling earlier and it was pretty bad pain.

Brief Answer:
Then likely due to muscle pproblem!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

In this case, I will recommend that you continue with Tylenol and Ibuprofen. This pain would be resolved as it seems limited to other muscles and would respond to pain medications alone.

Keep me updated with the progress. I wish you well.
