What Causes Palpitations And Constant Pressure Feeling In Head At Night?
Question: What would cause a feeling of preasure in my head at night when I lay down. It's getting worse almost to wear I don't want to lay down and I take a sleeping pill. Also have a sensation of palpitation in my head at night. During the day I'm fine

In case of such pressure and nocturnal headaches with throbbing or pulsating quality there are a number of causes that can be responsible including temporal arteritis, sleep apnea, pheochromocytoma, hydrocephalus ( communicating), glaucoma, vascular lesions and space occupying lesions including malignancies. You need to consult a neurologist. If there is any focal neurological deficit on the exam or the pressure sensation and headache history findings are suspicious for intracranial pathology then imaging investigations such as MRI brain with contrast can be advised in consult with your doctor. For the time being gabapentin, benzodiazepines and naproxen can be advised for symptomatic relief.
