What Causes Passing Out Sensations While On Cefuroxime?

default
Posted on Mon, 5 Oct 2015
Question: I have been taking Cefuroxime for 9 days. Last night I played an unusually long evening tennis match (almost 4 hours). I started feeling ill a few points before the end and was on the verge of passing out, similar to with a heat stroke. I am 65 but exercise daily half an hour to an hour. Do you think the Cefuroxime might have made me more susceptible to passing out after long exercise. XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Likely to be due to unaccustomed activity

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Ms

Going by description of your symptoms, its unlikely to be due to Cefuroxime. The symptoms is likely to be due to

1. Stress

2. Dehydration due to prolonged physical activity

3. Hypoglycaemia

4. Electrolyte imbalance due to excessive sweating

If you are non hypertensive and non diabetic then there is no cause for concern.

Do ensure adequate intake of fluids during exercise and physical activity and also ensure adequate rest

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you

Take Care
