Question: Have not seen a Doctor yet because of money situation and I feel sure that I will need surgery. I believe that I have an umbilical hernia (runs in my family). Very distended stomach, pain all the time. Is there anything I can do to arrange payments to get a diagnosis and the necessary surgery? I have put this off for a long time and also worry that other things are going wrong in my gastrointestinal region. I am currently in Wylie, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Please give more details on your gastrointestinal problems

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns. Can you please provide more information of your current health problems:
- pain?
- abdominal distention? gas?
- changes in bowel movements: diarrhea? constipation?
- nausea? vomiting?
- any other symptom?

Umbilical hernia is only determined by:
- physical examination
- evaluation of your current health condition
- abdominal ultrasound

So, you can go to ER and get the tests there. If they will judge your case as emergency, they can go for intervention. Otherwise, other treatment will be described.

Hope it was of help!
