Question: My daughter has had this problem for almost a month. She bloats after eating and sometimes has diarrhea and nausea. She got better for a couple of days but then it came back. She has been eating toast, oatmeal, eggs, yougurt. She tried a salad with chicken and she was ok. She had a turkey sandwich with spinach and onion and her stomach started hurting, another day she tried a turkey sandwich with nothing and that made her sick.

Brief Answer:
Try Tab.Gas-X with antacid tablets

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

I have read your query and understand the concern about your daughter.

From the facts you shared, the first possibility comes in mind about this stomach bloating with occasional diarrhea and nausea is acute gastritis or irritable bowel.

And for that, I would suggest your daughter to try some symptomatic over the counter medications and STRICT dietary precautions to get some relief.

Give over the counter antacids tablets like Tab.Pantoprazole 40mg or Rabeprazole 20 mg twice daily.

Also give Tab.Gas-X (Generic Name: Simethicone) twice daily. It will be helpful from relief of gas trouble or severe bloating.

Syrup Digene 2 TSF three times a day, will also be helpful.

Give Digestive enzymes (like Unienzyme once daily which is available over the counter). They are helpful in the digestion of carbohydrates and minimize the gas production.

Avoid eating full stomach one at a time.Avoid oil

Avoid complex carbohydrates (like beans, potato and carbonated beverages and milk based products like yougurt which she is taking) which are hard to digest and causes more gas formation.

Continue to give plenty of water with fruit juices (lemon juice with added salt) or coconut water.

Avoid hot,oily and spicy foods.

With above symptomatic treatment and dietary precautions,we would expect to see some improvement from bloating and other stomach symptoms.

But in case if problem persist even after that,I advise her to see physician or gastro-physician for further evaluation.

Hope this detailed explanation will be helpful.
