What Causes Persistent Blood In Urine Post Urostomy?

default
Posted on Mon, 18 Jan 2016
Question: Hi!
I had bladder cancer diagnosed 14 years ago. Had a urostomy (sp) and wear the flange and bag appliances. In the last week, I've noticed a lot of bleeding and often clots in varying sizes in my urine bag. When I changed the bag, I noticed a separation from stoma and stomach where most bleeding seemed to be. I called my dr and he said it was normal and would heal itself. But I am concerned about the clots as it has never before happened as the slight bleeding whenever I changed my appliance. Please advise.
