Question : my daughter has had persistent cough now for about 2 weeks, she mostly coughs at night and cough syrups do not help. the only thing that seems to help is raw honey. her regular doctor says its just allergies and to give her zyrtec which I do but nothing helps. she and I are losing alot of sleep over this cough. can you help me?
Brief Answer:
Possible upper respiratory tract infection
Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir.
I can certainly understand your concern.
Your daughter requires antibiotics for a short period of time.
I generally prescribe oral pills of Syrup AUGMENTIN (Co-Amoxyclav) 125 mg/5ml twice a day for 5 days.
Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these medications to you.
Post your further questions if any.
Thank you.
