Question : My six (6) month old daughter has been coughing since morning, and the frequency of it is more than how she usually coughs in a day. There are no other symptoms. Is there a reason to be worried?

Please note, we went to see her pediatrician (a well-respected doctor) three (3) days back and there were lots of infants and children around that time at the hospital, some with fever and cough, etc.

At that time, the doctor informed us that her chest was clear.

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day
Dear XXXX
Respiratory tract infection is quite common in infants( babies less than 1 year of age).
If the following criteria is fullfilled there is no cause for concern
1/ Absence of high grade fever
2. Breath quite and normal
3. Baby accepting feeds well
4. Baby sleeps well after feeds

Some amount of irritability and crying is acceptable

Thank you for your reply.

Since I last posted my message here, my daughter seems to be a bit feverish along with the cough. We will take her to the pediatrician tomorrow morning.
