What Causes Persistent Fatigue, Nausea And Swelling In The Neck?

Posted on Tue, 30 May 2017
Question: Hi there. I have been suffering from fatigue for months now. I have swollen neck glands and nausea too. I never feel rested and its making me quite depressed. The mornings are the worst for nausea, and i feel like when I am hungry I will be sick. I'm worried that its an EBV flare up? I had that when i was younger and apparently it can come back!

Brief Answer:
Abdominal ultrasound and symptomatic treatment

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms, I understand your concerns but unfourtanetly once you are infected with EBV it stays in your body and flares up at any time your immunity decreases.
The symptoms you are experiencing are consistent with the symptoms of an EBV flare up. that is why I would suggest that you get an ultrasound abdomen to check on your liver and spleen status since an EBV flare up can cause their enlargement .
EBV flare up has no specific treatment , medications are used to relieve the symptoms such as primperane for the nausea and ibuprofen for body aches. I hope you will find this helpful.
