Question : My son started to have stomach issues and was treated with antibiotics. One week later, he has symptoms of frequent bowl movements or constipation, we gave him probiotics, probiotics, digestive enzyme, and L-glutamine. He was ok for couple of days but having constipation. Today, he had 4 bowl movements and felt constipated. He passed small stool that are dark brown, sticky, foul ordered and small size. What is going on?
Brief Answer:
Stomach issues
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I suggest to get stool microscopy and Ultrasound scan of the abdomen.
If there is gas in the bowels then he needs motility tests. Continue the probiotics for few more days. You can also give him vitamin supplements.
If there is no diagnosis made we need to label as Irritable Bowel syndrome and treat. Most diagnosis leads to IBS after some stomach issues.
Ask your doctor about my opinion that I shared with you.
Hope I have answered your query.
