Posted on Wed, 11 Oct 2017
Question: I have heartburn symptom 2 months ago, and was advised to take pantocid 40 mg daily. After 1 month I realise burning sensation in my throat and pain which was diagnosed as pharyngitis, and was advised to take augmentin 650. After 10 days pain was reduced but burning sensation is increased only in left side of throat. Endoscopy was done and diagnosed with h pyleri infection. Now I am under treatment with pantocid hp kit, but no improvement of burning sensation of throat. Fiber-optic laryngoscopy was also done and result is mild arytenoids congestion. Now my question is burning sensation and pharyngitis related with h pyleri infection? Expected recovery time for current symptom???

Brief Answer:
Pharngitis and burning may be related

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Most often we see patients with both the symptoms of burning sensation in stomach due to hpylori infection along with pharyngitis.
We generally wait for a month for the treatment to act fully.
Pantocid helps reduce acid reflux into throat via laryngeal arytenoids.
Hope this answers your question.
