Brief Answer:
Glicerol injections should be considered.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back XXXXXXX and thanks for asking directly.

Of course there is hope and fortunately there are several treatment ways about trigeminal neuralgia.

Still in pain with all these drugs and side effects such vision problems, means that other treatment possibilities should be evaluated.

In addition, Prednisone can't be used for a long time because of the side effects.

As I mentioned before, glicerol injections around trigeminal ganglion at its exit from skull base is one simple technique that stops pain impulses and improves significantly your symptoms.

It is done by a Neuroradiologist under imaging guidance and usually there is no need to stay more than few hours at the hospital.

If neurovascular conflict is identified between trigeminal nerve and brain artery inside the skull, by MRI, microvascular decomprression is discussed as a permanent treatment option, but it is done surgically and complications exist.

Other possible treatment ways include gamma knife surgery and radiothermal lesioning of the trigeminal nerve.

In my opinion, you should consider glicerol injection in order to improve symptoms and reduce, or avoid drugs use.

Hope I helped you.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
