Question: I am 70 year old woman in good health. Last several weeks I have had persistent cramping in the lower buttocks area on both sides and taken motrin and put heat pad on--still have th pain?

Is this arthritis, rheumatoid something or what> Thanks for your help? XXXXXXX

Should i be taking magnesium tablets or anything else?

Persistent muscle cramps can be due to dehydration, muscle fatigue or electrolyte abnormalities. It is better to drink sufficient fluid and also see that your intake of electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium ) is sufficient. You can drink Oralyte for this.

In case it is still persistent then do consult a physician for proper prescription medicines.
