Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these severe pains and symptoms that you have reported. I have reviewed your information fully. This is suggestive of nerves probably being trapped as the exit the spinal cord. This explains the origin of the pains and why it travels all the way to the hands. I will want to wait on the MRI results to clarify on what the exact problem or structure impinging on these nerves is. From there we would be able to establish a treatment plan.

For now, good pain medications are needed. You would need powerful pain medications such as percocet, morphine, etc. while pending a final decision on this. Also, physiotherapy may help but not until we have the MRI results that I would want to recommend this knowing it is fully safe.

The pain medications are controlled substances and would require a doctor's script for this. Going to the ER would be a great way to get the pains addressed instantly when you are in crisis.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Brief Answer:
Surgery would be the only long term fix. Drugs can only help for a while!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this follow up query.

I am happy to know you have a good pain doctor. Like I mentioned, your nerves have been trapped and this causes real stimulation that explains the pain. Liberating them would be the real solution. Drugs would only help in the short run but not long run.

I understand your plight. I feel your pain but there is really no immediate solution. Let's get the MRI results and hope that the identified problem can be addressed easily through surgery.

Believe me, am here and would address any further concerns that you may have related to this. Thanks.
