Brief Answer:
This is possibly relate to nerve compression at the level of the lower back

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this pain that you have reported. I have reviewed your symptoms and this is suggestive of a trapped or pinched nerve at the level of the lower back. This is responsible for the pain and its movement down the limb as all nerves to the lower limbs exit at the level of the lower back. I will suggest that you get evaluated by a neurosurgeon. We should at least get an MRI of the back to look at the nerves and the bony structure as the nerves pass through the holes at this region. If this is confirmed, medications, physiotherapy and surgery as last option.

On another note, I will like to see your an image of your swollen ankle for inspection and more insights.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.
