What Causes Persistent Pain In Lower Left Abdomen Post A Corrective Surgery?

Question: Just for background, I had a complete hysterectomy in 1989. This past October I went in for a routine colonoscopy (sp?) The doctor perforated my colon within 15 minutes of starting. Since I was in a surgical center, I had to be transported to the hospital ER by ambulance (blaring and all!) After getting there my husband was told about an hour repair surgery. . . It took close to 4 hours. I stayed in the hospital 5-6 days.
After going home, in lots of pain, I began to vomit pure bowel. It was like a fire hose!! Kid you not! To make along story short, I was rushed from the doctor's office by ambulance back to the hospital.
I ended up with a blocked bowel from the first corrective surgery. Wen't in and fixed that, came home
Several days later at 97lbs. Went through my recovery, etc. etc. I kept telling my doctor I had pain in my left Lower side, he did a ctscan and found nothing. I also told him it hurt when I urinated and had a bowel movement. His latest advice has been to increase my fiber. . .didn't help. To this day, 6 months later, the pain is consistent. I am also wearing a diaper, just in case, especially at night. It has been a total nightmare. I have an appt. with a gyn tomorrow. Do you have any advice at all.

Brief Answer:
Can be a urinary infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The pain in the left lower side persistent even six months after the surgery can be due to a urinary infection or an intestinal pain. It can be related to internal stitches or adhesions after the surgery.
The exact diagnosis can be made only after an examination and few tests. You can get a urine culture sensitivity done to rule out an infection.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
