What Causes Persistent Pain In Lower Left Abdominal Area?
Question: During the past two weeks, person has experienced pain inside left (top) hipbone area (towards front, not back). No ovaries.

Read and reviewed your query.
You seem to suffer from Constipation with pain in lower left abdomen for last 2 weeks.
Causes-
In My opinion it could be from IBS-C .
Hence it needs to be investigated and confirmed for its cause.
It could be due to Chronic Colitis /
or could be due to Chronic Fissure in ano/
or Proctitis /
or from Anal Piles causing anorectal spasm ,which leads to Constipation.
Other Causes as Ca Colon/Ca Rectum / Diverticulosis / Polyposis needs to be kept in mind.
Investigations-
Clinical Check from your doctor is needed for your age.
Rule out any serious cause like Ca Colon/Ca Rectum / Diverticulosis / or Polyposis,causing Constipation for 2 weeks.
Stool-Ova /Cyst Examination / Proctoscopy from Surgeon / CT Colon with Contrast would fix any of the above causes.
Colonoscopy with Biopsy of the obstructing lump would fix the cause by histopath study of the Colonic growth.
Remedy -
Would depend on the cause of the Constipation in your case.
Medicinal Care-
Change to High Fiber, low protein , non-spicy diet is needed
Plenty of fluids x 1 weeks time
Antispasmodics from your GP doctor
Antibiotics with Metrogyl-x (you will need a prescription from your treating doctor) 10 days time would control Amoebic Colitis or bacterial colitis if any-which is most Common cause.
-If the pain and Constipation persists After 10 days, evaluation from investigation would fix cause of this Constipation.
Polypectomy / or Diverticulectomy if complicated / or Colonic resection of Polyp / or Resection of Colonic, Ano-rectal growth would resolve your Constipation with left lower abdomen.
Dear all these possibilities need to be kept in mind while considering treatment for your case,as you are in advanced age of 65 yrs and your pain has not reduced after Mirlax-after 2 weeks of pain with Constipation.
