Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern and would explain that menopause can explain some of your symptoms, but not all of them.

It is important performing a comprehensive differential diagnosis between other possible causes:

- the swelling in your calves may be related to different causes: heart failure, low renal or liver function, venous insufficiency, fluid retention, etc.

- the episodes of shortness of breath and bradycardia could be caused by cardiac arrhythmia.

- it is important determine the mature of the lump in your breast ( inflammation or a tumor).

Coming to this point, I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical examination and some tests:

- resting ECG and cardiac ultrasound to examine your cardiac function
- an ambulatory 24-48 hours monitoring to exclude possible cardiac arrhythmia
- a chest X Ray study
- a breast ultrasound or mammogram to determine the nature of the lump in your breast
- blood lab tests ( complete blood count, inflammation tests, renal and liver function tests, blood electrolytes, fasting glucose)
- a Doppler ultrasound of the leg vessels to examine for possible venous insufficiency.
- a gynecologist consult coupled with an ultrasound is needed to examine your uterus.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
