Question : I had Sotto pelle hormone pellets inserted into my right buttock on December 29, 2015. I have had this procedure previously about every 6 months for the past 6 years. This time I went to my GYN instead of the original Doctor I had used. They changed the pellets to include DHEA and progesterone plus the estrodile and testosterone which I had usually received. I have had pain in the site, more than usual. Also I have had significant puss like discharge for three weeks since this insertion. Do you think I could be allergic to the new materials included in the pellet or could I have a staph infection?

Brief Answer:
Infection likely

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns.

This appears to be secondary to the infection caused due to insertion of pellets.

You need to see your doctor immediately to get this pus discharge examined and give you antibiotics to combat infection.

If needed pus might be drained.

Please see your doctor immediately.

Regards
