Question : I have dry mouth and constant thirst. I've had these symptoms for the past 3-4 days now. I seem to feel different in the lower back, left side. It's not really pain but just seems different. There is no pain touching in that area and no pain in the abdomen. I have no problem with urination- in fact, I'm going quite a bit since I'm drinking a lot of water since I'm always thirsty. My urine is light in color and no blood in the urine. Brief Answer:
Are you on any medications? Have you been tested for diabetes?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. They could be related to medication side effects and as such I will like to know if you are on any medications. Also, these could be suggestive of diabetes and I will like to know whether you have ever been tested for this disease condition. Let me know what your responses are to these further questions and information requested.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.

The only medication I am on is Synthroid (5mg) and have been taking it for a few years now with no problems. I had a physical exam earlier this year with no indication of diabetes.

Brief Answer:
THis is atypical then!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

This is simply not so typical of a specific disease condition them given that diabetes and medications which were most likely causes seem totally off the list. I will suggest that you monitor only for now and should these symptoms persist beyond a week, seek for a full medical evaluation. There are times we go through somewhat different transient symptoms that have no pathological significance.

Let me know what your thoughts are on this. Keep me posted with your evolution.
