Question : I have a swollen elbow. A doctor told me I have bursitis. I have been using an ace bandage, taking anti inflammatory pills 400 mg twice a day for a month. I still have a swollen elbow. How do I get my elbow back to normal?

The persistent swelling in the elbow can be due to an inflammation associated with an infection. To decrease the swelling you can take oral antibiotics and ask your orthopedician about local steroid injections to decrease the inflammation. Keeping the elbow raised on two pillows while resting will also help.
