Brief Answer:
Why not get empirical treatment!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this difficulty getting the exact cause of your vaginal discharge diagnosed and managed accordingly. With all these tests being negative, I will suggest that your doctor treat for common causes of vaginal discharge with an odor to see if this makes a difference. He should consider treating for vaginosis using flagyl. Should it make a difference, then that could be the cause and if not we would at least know that is not the cause. It is not strange to hear that a laboratory can miss an infection on testing. Even without laboratory support, doctors should still be able to make reasonable decisions and act accordingly based on patient's symptoms.

In all, I will suggest you get an empiric treatment with metronidazole as your symptoms seem suggestive of bacterial vaginosis though not confirmed by the laboratory testing.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Thanks!

Hi and thanks for this follow up precision.

If this drug didn't help, then the cause of this being an infection is more questionable. I will like to turn my attention to your douching habits? Do you do vaginal douching? If so, how often and what products to you use? Can you please describe the exact thing you do?

Hope to hear from you.

Hi and thanks for this follow up precision.

I recommend you stop vaginal douching.

For how long have you had this increased vaginal discharge and odour? Vaginal discharge and odour is never normal. Causes include infections, poor hygienic practices, etc.

How would you rate your personal hygiene level?

Brief Answer:
Please, see a Gynecologist!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this follow up information.

I have gone though our discussion once again and I think you need a more comprehensive and thorough review. Unfortunately, this cannot be done online alone. You have to be interviewed carefully and examined to pick clues as to what the possible cause of these symptoms is. If you have been seeing the same OBGYN over the years, I will suggest you try to get a second opinion from a new one. Make sure you find the time and gets the chance to be fully evaluated.

We cannot just obtain enough information from our discussions to address this. Keep me posted when you see an OBGYN for further exchanges related to his/her findings.

I wish you well.
