Question : I am 45, I have three children and lead a busy life. Nothing unusual. Period this last month is the first abnormal. I have been spotting dark brown for 3 weeks. I feel there is a pressure on my pelvic bone..like it wants to release but hasnt. I feel bloated and have mild cramps. Inserting a tampon is irrating..I use pantyliners. I will be seeking an appointment with my obgyn..however would like to know if you have any answers? Thank you.
Brief Answer:
?Hormonal variation
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns.
Such persistent spotting needs to be evaluated by ultrasound scan as it could be a polyp or thick endometrium.
Bloating and cramps are due to progesterone hormone. This indicates a possble hormonal imbalance this cycle that must be causing spotting as well as these symptoms.
These symptoms and also spotting is likely to get corrected after next periods and are temporary to this period only if it is due to hormonal variation.
Let me know if you need anymore help.
