Question: Hi,

My junior is suffering from couple of concerns since last few weeks. I am visiting to a padiatrician since start of problem. Junior is not recovered yet. I am loosing faith in my current doctor and I am suspecting he is giving wrong medicine and about to make money only.
Symptoms in my son; Problem started around 22 July.
1) Small watery pimple like dots on whole body (neck, arms, legs, stomach, check, back and bump), few on cheeks as well. - Its 90 % fine now. In last meeting with doctor, I got more confused as he said dots are due mosquito bites.
2) Dandruff - After a week it becomes seviour i.e. kind of honey crust XXXXXXX with some blood. - Its still there.

During the medication, few more problems happens like;
1) Loose motion - starting at 2nd Aug - went away in 2 days
2) Cold - Still there
3) Conjuctivities - Starting 7th Aug - Still there
4) Vomting - Staring 7th Aug - Happens ocassionaly - He doesn't eat much and used to complain about vomet feeling.

Thanks,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
I agree with your doctor and treatment is correct

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for asking to healthcare magic platform.
I completely understand your concern. After going through the details,I agree with your doctor.
The condition seborrhic dermatitis or tinea versicolor both are same.It is caused by same fungal infection. Atopic dermatitis is another very close diagnosis but management remains the same.
He has advised you Candid TV lotion. It contains clotrimazole(an antifungal) and selenium sulfide(an antiinfective agent).Flutibact contains fluticasone and it helps in early recovery from the skin lesion.
Allegra an antiallergic helps in relieving the itchiness.
So all these medication are right for this condition and you need not to worry for that.
Now coming to your second problem.
Most common cause of cough, loose stool and vomiting in this age is some viral infection. He has prescribed you lanzol(lansoprazole) an acid reducing gaent.
I would like to add some antiemetic like ondensetron or domperidone for vomiting. The symptoms of viral infection takes some time to subside.Allegra is an antiallergic and it takes care of mild cold as well.
Transient loss of appetite is normal during any illness.I wont get worried if he is passing urine normally,active/playful and accepting fluids.
Adding medication for vomiting will also help in improving his appetite.

I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more query.
Wishing for your juniors's speedy recovery.
Regards

Thanks a lot Dr. XXXXXXX for clarifying all the concerns.
One thing I forgot to add;
I am using Arcolane shampoo daily (as recommened by doctor) to wash junior head. Its been in treatment since last 3 weeks but still drandruff is there. Doctor told me that, it will take approx 2 months to get it cleaned. is that so ?
- Will it be ok to use this shampoo daily, any side-effect of this ? Because, I do see - gaps in hair. At few places gaps are of .5+ cm of margins.
- I am worried about excessive usage of checmical shampoo.

Thanks,

Brief Answer:
Here again I agree with your doctor

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back

Although there are hormonal side effects of oral ketoconazole(ingredient of arcolane). There are very little if any known side effects of its topical application.
It is really very difficult to get rid of any kind of fungal infection and same here.
I agree with your doctor and would suggest you to continue applying the Arcolane for another 4-6 weeks.

Regards
