Question : can blisters form on the buttocks from a colonoscopy?
Brief Answer:
Possible allergic reaction
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
You recently had a colonoscopy and the day after you developed a blister in the and around your rectum and buttocks. This is not a usual occurrence. This is possibly due to an allergic reaction to the gel used to lubricate the scope. I would recommend using a steroid cream on the area until the area heals. I would also recommend contacting your GI doctor and inform them about your reaction. They may have additional instructions.
